Next BR getogether for NYC/NJ area
« on: July 29, 2004, 11:11:18 AM »
please start posting your name, as well as the best days/times for you to bowl during the week...if we can, i would like to do another getogether before the summer ends.  give me an idea as to where you are from, and we'll set something up as close to where everyone lives as possible.  i would definitely like the 5 other bowlers that made it to jersey lanes today to be able to make it.  thanks.

Brunswick, we've been to Johnny Petraglias house, think that's North Brunswick.
How close from there are you talking?
In PA. about a half hour from the river towards New Hope/Lmabertville area or up 78 Easton into Jersey.
Sounds like fun.

Can I assume you mean Brunswick Zone - Carolier, at the corner of Rt 1 North and Rt 130 in North Brunswick??

Very nice place; usually decent amount of oil on Brunswick Anvil Lanes.
It's about 30 minutes South of where we went, Jersey Lanes in Linden NJ (near the Gas company crackers that everyone sees when driving on the Turnpike just West of NYC; it's what gives NJ a bad rap.)

proudmama...thats an awfully long trip to make for a day of bowling....i would be more than happy to have you come, but even carolier lanes, which is the place i assume you were speaking of, is a pretty far ride.  to be honest with you, coming from route 78, if that is the same road i am thinking of running east/west to pennsylvania, then you would be better off at the places we were considering for this past thursday...jersey lanes and linden lanes are about 30 minutes north of carolier, like charlest mentioned.  that would probably be easier for you.  keep checking for updates and let us know the best days/times for you to come if possible.

Hello everyone!
You guys probably don't knonw me (I don't post much, but do love this website, have been lurking since the beginning--actually had a different screen name years ago, but forgot what it was due to lack of just not using it).
Anyway, being a former NYer (moved from Staten Island a little over a year ago, prior to that lived in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn), I would love to join the group, if I may, at your next get together.  Would love to see the faces behind some of these great posts, and share in your fun.  I now live in Allentown, PA, so knowing in a little advance exactly where and when your next meet is would be great.  Let me know.
Thanks

We do day trips that far, if there's no tournaments I could get the gang to com eout.
We went through New Hope Area, around Trenton to 95 I think. Took about an hour 15 minutes I think.
It'd have to be a weekend for us though, you're right for a week night it's too far.
My son was considering trying to get into a league there and  decided it was too far weekly.

Allentown, our outer fringe. We consider it closest big city to us.
Hubbby and son bowl the City Tournaments there.
Son got first 300 in Emmaus house.

Perhaps if my idea for a PA thing here, maybe you could get something going closer to Allentown. We don't know many bowler proprietors up there.
My son works For Earl Bowl in Quakertown every other Sat.

They've been bowling Mountainville Summer League, he thinks those lanes are tough. Might be he's trying to hard to hit his home high ave.

I think it's Tim at Boulevard he's going to get some of his new stuff drilled.

okay everyone...im trying to make a list to get an idea for this.  over the weekend i am going to start a post, kind of like a registration sheet...i need everyone to put down their name, area they live, and what day/time is best for meeting..please also tell me the names of any centers you know of in central jersey that are well maintained and cheap...just because i am setting this up doesnt mean the house we go to needs to be 10 minutes away from me.  after you do that at the beginning of your reply, then you can let me know of any possible problems, dilemmas, or transportation issues you may have.  doing this will allow me to find out when, where and how we are all going to meet.  with all of these un-uniform posts and side-conversations, its very hard for me ot keep track of who and where people are from.
