Recently the center's mechanic got pretty upset with me about my equipment choice. Without explaining why, he told me to, "Stop throwing that thing! If you don't I'll have you thrown out of here!"
Now I've thrown this rubber ball at other centers in the area without any trouble. So what issues could the mechanic have with it? (No marks on the lanes, no ball return issues that I'm aware of)
(FYI, it's a very good condition Ebonite XL5 I use for the summertime super scorched lanes)
Anyone? Obviously I'm missing something.

Do the mechanic have the power to have you tossed? Sounds like a conversation with the management is needed.

Other than a couple of super soft balls like the original LT 48 there should be no reason for any center to have a problem with a hard rubber ball

I imagine this is one auction that won't have a taker...someone is selling approx. 600 rubber bowling balls...$6,000 or best offer...I doubt even bowling center would spring for that over the standard house balls they acquire these days.
