no thumber

My son-in-law is just learning to bowl, he does not use a thumb, bowls at about 14-15mph any ideas on what kind of ball for him?
I am an old style maybe a tweener and my stuff hooks off the lane for him.

If he's just learning the first thing I would do is try to teach him to get the thumb in the ball.  I bowled for a long time no-thumb and just switched over to using my thumb a few months ago.  Much more comfortable and controllable with the thumb.

My ball suggestion will be a bit biased since all I have ever used was Hammer so my suggestion would be a Razyr or something like it.  It has a decent cover on it but it's not too aggressive for the rev dominant no-thumb style.  I have one for the real dry nights and I use it no-thumb sometimes when we go out to open bowl and I feel like goofing around.

At that ball speed, probably something on the weak side. Weak resin cover, not much of a core.

thanks guys, I am somewhat of an older hammer head so I think I will look at the razyr, and yes I tried to get him to stick his thumb in first and learn that way then start cranking it but they do not have much patience at his age.I told him he will hate the 10pin!!!!!!!!!
