What is REASONABLE?
« on: October 11, 2004, 08:48:23 AM »
I'm always looking through the FOR SALE column in this forum. Seems like I have a very difficult time passing up what I think is a BUY!

I came across someone selling a LANE1 GOLDEN NUGGET USED. Defined as GOOD SHAPE .. asking $110. Is this a REASONABLE PRICE and would you pay that much for it? I WOULDN'T .. but was wondering what others thought! Thanks!

I would NOT pay $110 for any used ball.  One well known poster has told me that he believes asking over $35 for a ball is too much.  I disagree, but there are certainly limits.  I would have a very hard time justifying an asking price of over 2/3 the balls' initial value, and then it would have to be in terrific shape.  Of course, if the $110 included shipping it's getting closer, but still too high, imo.

I do have one .. I did see one ON SALE USED for $110 and thought it was outrageous .. wanted to see what others thought!

My thought on the subject is .. AS A BUYER I'M NOT TRYING TO MAKE THE SELLER WHOLE (or get his money back on a deal he didn't like) as a BUYER I'm trying to get a DEAL when I buy USED!

I doubt I would pay $110 for a used ball. I think the most I've come to has been around $90-$95, but that included shipping. All 3 of my main balls in my roller (Animal, Eraser Pearl Particle, Hot Wire) came from sellers on the ballreviews.com board, and I'm very happy.
