non-members in regionals
« on: July 30, 2004, 10:53:50 AM »
Last time I emailed Russ Mills, only regional coming up for non-members in our area that have a good opportunity is the Wilkes Barre one because the others are smaller houses.
Son could've got a spot in the last one in Lebanon but I distracted him. He was in second spot after 4. I told him something I'd over heard and he blew his last game.
Had only a 167 the first game. Blew a really big game, had like 5 or 6 in  a row, made a split, forget which one.  Lanes scored it wrong, after that he got distracted for a while. Missed several easy ones, he seems to focus more on the tough crap.  After 4 was plus 1 and then another 16*.

I hope he does better if he makes it to York on Sunday. Plan is to go.

He said right now it seems the failures are paying off. When you miss out by one or 2 pins, or one bad game, eventually it sinks in and he's focusing better now.

Last weekend he beat a couple guys by just one pin, had to strike out to beat the one guy by one. Felt good to win by one instead of lose by one.

I wish I knew as much about bowling as my son.
He's not a bragger but mom sure loves to share his good times!
