nonsanction legues
« on: September 14, 2015, 09:24:41 AM »
our league went to being non sanction , but we have bowlers who need to be sanctioned for tournaments so the owner of bowling center is creating a sanctioned 10 week drop in league. so bowlers who bowl in non sanction leagues can join that league, can use there scores for the first 10 weeks of the nonsanction league and consider them as post bowling for the drop in league, since non sanction leagues are considered as open bowling. looks like a USBC loop hole.

I bowled in a non-sanctioned league this summer and I would quit bowling altogether before I would ever do it again.

The PBA Experience and Get a Ball leagues here are non-sanctioned. PBA is only summer and the others start up about once a month.

So your saying the house is going to create a phony sanctioned league.

Then use the scores from the non sanctioned league as the scores in the phony league, so a bunch of bowlers can have a sanctioned average.

Sounds like sandbag heaven.

Do they have to pay for this phony league? they'd have to get sanction cards too.

the local assoc. is okay with this?

This is NOT legal for averages. The local USBC should be notified.

I think I may have seen it all now....

"consider them" as post bowling, lol, they're being "considered" as post bowling.

I guess "loop hole" is defined the same as "lie"?

I would never bowl non-sanctioned and what would they have done if the bowlers that wanted sanctioning had walked out.  I don't think the post-bowl deal could be legal. I would contact USBC.
