North Carolina
« on: July 25, 2007, 10:03:37 AM »
Greetings from North Carolina!  Before some one says this is in the wrong place, there will be plenty of bowling tales as The Gathering begins.

In case anyone cares, I arrived safe and sound from LAX by way of Phoenix and Raleigh Durham to Winston Salem.  I plan on making my appearance at Creekside Lanes tomorrow.

As a teammate of mine say every Monday night - "Let the Games Begin!"

For all traveling any distance, safe travels and see you soon!

For those unable to attend, regular updates will be posted!

Glad you made it in OK.  Toma and Nollster are here as well.  I might be around tomorrow afternoon, but that depends on how I feel between golf in the morning and league in the evening.  I'll stop by after league to see everyone.  I'll probably be there around 10:30 pm.

By the way, the official list seems to be:

Ron (Magic Carpet) + Karen
Andy (Andy_WS) + Cindy
Geoff (Strider) + Letricia
Colleen (Thongprincess)
Jim (Nollster)
Toma (Toma)
Kevin (kev3inp) + wife
Allen (crazyyankee)
Frank (FrankTheTank)
Steve Brooks
Glen (glen28) + Linda
Andy (a_ak57) + friend
Jesse (JPRLane1)
janderson + wife
Alakazam + wife
Jim (CoachJim)

That's all the "definites" from the big post.  Even with the late cancellations of some regulars, 24 isn't a bad count.

I thought about stopping by the center, but on 2 hours sleep I decided to just hang at the hotel.  I bowled league last night, updated our website & standings, then decided I had better pack.  At about 1 Am I finally got to bed and up 3AM to catch the 4AM FlyAway bus to LAX for a 6:05AM flight.

The flight from LAX to Phoenix was too short and the pilot kept coming on to let us know we were not taking the usual route.  There was unstable air masses and we had to go farther north.  Anyhow no sleep on that part.  From Phoenix to Raleigh I was next to a lady who was very sweet, but liked to talk.  That combined with a kid behind me who liked to randomly kick the seat as hard as he could.  So no sleep on that part either.

I am forcing myself to stay up a while longer so I don't wake up at 3AM

Hey guys I have a bit of a problem here.  I sprained my ankle last night during tennis and sprained it pretty bad.  I was suppose to have my PBA league tonight Its not till 6:30 so i am hoping to give it a shot.  Its not my slide ankle but it hurts to walk around at this point.  I am off work rest of the week so hopefully I can rest it enough to make it up there saturday.  I would say even if I can't bowl i woould come hang out, the only problem is my car has a clutch and just drving home from tennis last night wasn't the least bit fun.  I hope more than anything to make it i will keep everyone updated.

Count me in and my brother! What time are the festivities starting Friday and Saturday? I remember there was a bragging rights tournament last year, is there another one planned?

Oh yeah, how much are the games?

WillynHook-

You are missed!  Some have already asked about you.  We sure hope to see you next year, with the whole clan

For those of you who remember the Friday Night Scotch Doubles, I redeemed myself with Toma.  Last year I bowled with Rick Wunder and Toma.  I left pretty much makable spares for Rick.  I wasn't so kind to Toma. I left him some really ugly yet interesting splits .  This year I only left him 2 splits and 1 washout.  I have been forgiven for last year .

Very Cool!  Several are planning to get to the center around 10 or 10:30AM.  We may not get on the lanes until areoung noon due to the juniors and others there Sat AM.  Who knows I may help coach the Juniors.

While I my offer some pointers, you're probably better off getting them from Ron - he is #1 Coach in the World - just ask the two gentlemen from Italy who are here.  I am assuming you are looking for bowling tips
