Numb Thumb?
« on: January 08, 2005, 01:57:21 AM »
A couple Tuesdays ago, I had a real nice shot (averaging like 230) and it was bowl as much as you want for $8, so I threw something like 15 games... Towards the end, my thumb was fairly swollen and weak, and I laid off the bowling for a week to let it get itself back together.  I then bowled on and off for two weeks with no apparent problems until this Tuesday, where during the first game, the right side of my thumb went numb (kind of like the pins and needles feeling you get when your foot falls asleep).  I thought I could just sleep it off, but it was still there the next day... It has since gotten better, and I regained 95% of the feeling in that region on the thumb-- I'm thinking pinched nerve or something that swelled up and disrupted the nerve.

Just curious if any pro shop guys have seen anything like this and could recommend something.  I use 1/8" forward in my thumb, which can dig down into the callous at the base of my thumb sometimes, but I hadn't had any problems until a couple weeks ago.
