Sweaty hand cures...
« on: December 06, 2011, 03:09:47 PM »
Hey all, looking for some advice.I have tried numerous products to help with my sweaty hads. The kegal no sweat spray hardly does anything, rosin only work until I put the bag down and go pick up a ball.It causes me to loose the feel of my ball. One time its perfect, next shot due to sweaty hands the ball slips and is hard to get a feel on.Anyone else experienced this and can give some much needed tips. The hand tape I use on the back of my thumb won't stick for a whole game without coming off being soaked..

Ray, if your problem is really serious, this is what we worked out for a really serious problem for a local bowler.  His hand would just sweat beyond belief.

He started buying  rubber gloves at local hardware store.  Really thin, used for home staining projects.  He used these under a leather golf glove, these gave him a workable feel for the ball.   We worked out his balls for a good fit.   He started enjoying his bowling and said after a certain time the grip became natural feeling.

Using the golf gloves by themselves doesn't work as they become wet themselves by absorbtion.

Using the rubber gloves by themselves doen'st work either.

I had a friend with the same problem and be used the aerosol Right gaurd anti-perspirate just sprayed his hand every few shots. He used the non scented just for no one would smell it! It works very well for him, don't know if he had it as severe as you though. But hell its a 3-4 dollar remedy.

I have sweaty palms. The thing that works well for me are grip-rite sacks. I use it right before I pick up the ball and my hand stays dry.

I was told by my Dr. to go to the Pharmacy and pick up a deoderant called Certain Dry or Dry lock.Anyways he said to wash hands with hot water and soap and spray deoderant on hands and hour before bowling. The high strength spray actually closes your sweat glands. When done bowling just wash off with cold water and soap.Ill let you guys know how it works.

The No Sweat doesn't really work for me either. I use thumb tape as well, at it would start lifting off around the edges before I even throw my first ball. I would wash my hands with dish washing soap to remove the oils, even alcohol after, and it would still come off. I now use BENZOIN COMPOUND TINCTURE, and it will keep the tape on for the whole night. It would still lift off a little bit around the side edges just a little, but not enough for me to change the tape or cause any release issues.
Now with that problem resolved, I just need to deal with the rest of my sweaty hands. I'll have to go to my local cvs to see if they have those sprays. Sounds promising,

I know it sounds like I'm in denial, but I'm not.
