Title: Odd Leave.......
Post by: dicnic on May 13, 2008, 11:35:14 AM
During practice on Sunday morning a buddy threw a bad ball and ended up leaving an
8-9-10. Never saw that before, I could not believe how the ball got through the pins and left those three.

Then, amazingly enough, he picked it up!!!

Totally screwwed up, eh? Low track, no hand, low speed - impact like a 4-year-old? A team mate almost left a 7-8-9-10 in league this way - "luckily", the 7 toppled over, too, but it was the hit and miss of the last season

Never seen that. I HAVE left the 7-9-10 once this past season...threw my spare ball in disgust, and walked away, only to hear people clapping because I actually converted it...

We had a guy towards the end of league leave the 4-5-7-10.  He's a VERY accurate bowler, but he totally dumps the ball, but even with his lack of speed/revs we were shocked

I was throwing staight to work on my spare pickups recently and I do this with a full rack for a whole game. Well, one time I hit the 6-10 square and ended up leaving only the 2-3-5. Even the owner of the bowling said he'd never seen it before.

Ive left the 2 3 10. I was like 9 years old, yanked the ball really really terribly and made contact with the 47. Pins started to fall all over, and the 5 pin fell through the middle of the headpin, and I left the 2 3 10.

a few years ago during a sanctioned summer league, a buddy of mine (right handed) leaves the 2-4-6-8-10

Only a couple of weeks ago, a guy in league on a 5 bagger got into the "out of bounds" and took out only the 6-9 leaving 8 pins standing.  He redeemed himself making the spare.

I've done something similar to the bowler NY Mike is talking about, except that I took the 4-6-8-9 off a full rack...  I converted the spare though.

I left the 1-2-4-6-7-10, then on purpose mind u, threw the ball right through the same hole.

Im so glad people are brainwashed to thinking that if they buy a new ball they will carry everything. And its even funnier when im carrying with my 15 year old ball and they're going flat ten.

One time I drilled up a brand new sharp blade and had front 5 with it off the bat. I through the next shot and the ball hit so hard, the 5 pin did a front flip to the in the 4 pin spot. . . .it seems like a lie even i dont believe it

I hit the pocket weak last week in my spring league. I left the 2-5-10. I covered it anyways, haha.

Keep up the great bowling! I trust you have improved somewhat

I have to call BS on this one!!

4-8 possible for a lefty, 6-9 possible for a righty.

4-6-8-9 impossible, unless you throw a ball with each hand at the same time!!!

I've upped my average, so up yours!

not necessarily,  you pluck the 6-9 which I have seen 1 guy do twice (in back to back frames)

and get a bounce out of the back, hitting the 8 into the 4, you see pins domino between other pins all the time, they aren't as wide as the space between them
