struggles

I just paid 265 dollars to ball four games of puss.  The shot was not that hard i just sucked balls.  I practice about once sometimes twice a week but bowl nothing else.  I think I just suck when I bowl with other people.  I just want to quit sometimes but I love bowling to much.  I love the competition but I just sucked this time.  I don't know what to do.  Do I just chock it up to a bad day or do I need to change my game?  I have been working on it and thought I had it but now I see that I don't.  Just venting and hoping I don't suck it up next time I bowl a tournament.

I've fallen apart like that a time or two.  The one that killed me the most was state tournament AT THE HOUSE THAT I WORKED AT.  I just couldn't get it right and ended up with like a VERY low 500 or maybe a high 400, it was pretty embarrassing but you live and learn and go on.

gbrown,

Maybe you need to get some more competitive singles leagues, to prep yourself mentally better for tournaments. The summer is a great time to do this as there are often many singles leagues that don't exist in the winter.

Even in regular leagues, there are many pots and brackets. These are much like tournaments, in that you can't make a mistake, like singles pin spares or they cost you money IMMEDIATELY.

If you ONLY practice, you missing out on the mental aspect of competitive bowling. The mental side is HUGE.

You good folks are right.  i missed 3 spares for four games.  When I finally got something going I would mess it up with a split or something.  I know I am better than that and just have to prove it next time I am out.  Life is hard don't mean you give up.  Like I always say when you are in a slump just buy a new ball it always makes me feel better. lol
