Oh great, just great...
« on: May 02, 2006, 02:09:25 PM »
I finished fall leagues with a 166 average.  We had our first night in my summer league last night, where we all were establishing average, and I have to go and throw a 588, which is one of my best series of the year.  (Hey, I'm still learning, here!)  I COULD thank my new Doom, but I don't know if I want to.  Now then, do I expect to drop like a rock, or devise some plan to try and stay around that 196 average?

GOOD bowling! Can't judge an average on ONE NIGHT .. wait and see how it goes! Maybe this is your BREAK OUT year! Just go out and bowl your best .. see how you finish the league! GOOD LUCK!

Thanks, Joe.  The funny thing about the other night is that I was a couple spares away from a REALLY good night for me.  I opened in the ninth and tenth in the second, and opened in the tenth in the third.  Had my best game of the year in the first, a 235.  That Doom seems like one hell of a ball, and I also tried a new thumb pitch in it which I think is making a big difference in my release.  I'll try to keep it up!

lol...I've been there. Finished in 1999 with a 186 average and proceeded to open up summer leagues with a 660. One of my teammates, a regular 190 bowler, shot 720. We didn't win a game for a month until our averages returned to normal.

Nice bowling and good luck for the rest of the season.  Dont worry about trying to keep that average, just relax and do your best.  It will all average out.

Nice Shooting. Let me know how that Vapor Zone treats you. I've yet to get that Smokin Inferno to the proshop yet. Should be an interesting ball for me. As for summer leauges. Tonight was the start of my PBA/Sport Leauge at sunset lanes in waukegan (the 1st ever pba leauge in waukegan). I came out of the gates shooting 244. I have high game of the leauge right now with a 238 close behind me. I went 244, 153, 159 for 556 on the 44' shark pattern. Most of the 200 games came in the 1st game. Anyway, high series to start out was 650, i didnt do too badly considering some of the bonehead errors i did.

How did you find the Shark pattern to play? Where could you score from/not score from?

Good bowling, Mike.  I intend to just keep the Vapor on the shelf for now, I'm not in any rush to get it punched up.  I just got my Doom two weeks ago, so I'll probably not be putting that down for a little bit.

I started a PBA/Sport leauge last night (turns out i do not have high game of the leauge as the scores last night dont count!) but its a new leauge near me and its fairly huge. It seems that ive gotten alittle better but not much, still need to work on spares.

Ohh, i wanna add in, I dont think ill have my smokin inferno plugged and redrilled till late summer along with the scorchin inferno. I was pretty impressed with the BIG One on the  Shark pattern.

Updated information, I just got the Vernon Hills Wednesday and Friday night PBA switch the shot leauge oil schedule.

This is what i have on my schedule for wednesday night:

Viper - 37' (duration 3 weeks)
Shark - 43' (duration 3 weeks)
Scorpion - 41' (duration 2 weeks)
Cheetah - 35' (duration 2 weeks)
Chameleon - 39' (duration 3 weeks)

For the friday night schedule, its the same minus the Viper pattern as its 3 weeks shorter then wednesday night.

Hey, I think my Aunt and Uncle are bowling in that, is it at Hawthorne?  Curt and Linda Aemisegger.  They're both really good.

I can't even get on their team.    They're pretty entrenched over there!

LOL. I'll probably get stomped at the Vernon Hills PBA leauge but oh well, you dont get better being the best all the time. Sometimes you have to get your butt stomped to make yourself better, I firmly beleive this and I welcome the butt kicking. Ryan, just let me know when you move to gurnee so we can plan a night to bowl together, ill tell you right now though, Wednesday and Thursday nights are out, Mon, Teus, and Fri. are all open.

Believe me, I didn't sandbag!  I'm just hoping I don't drop like a rock and throw a 450 in the second week!  It's only 14 weeks, so every one counts.
