Oil application: Forward or reverse pass?
« on: June 24, 2004, 05:26:33 PM »
I hate to admit that I don't know this by now, especially since I'm sure it has been discussed somewhere, but here goes.

In reading descriptions of lane dressing patterns, it is always mentioned where the machine applies oil on it's forward pass and where it applies oil on it's reverse pass.  What difference does this make?

quoted from the Phantom:  Basically, the “forward” oiling establishes the pattern that you desire.  â€œReverse” oiling will give you the longevity that you are seeking.
