oil pattern,high st

has anyone bowled on the high st kegel pattern? im wondering if i will be able to play outside on it thanks

I just looked it up, being that I have never bowled on it I cant say for sure. But, I bowl in a Kegels Challenge shot league, and I was told a little tip to the Kegel Patterns from Chris Forry from Buddies Pro Shop. He told me to take the length of the oil (in your case 44ft) and subtract 31 (which equals 13) and that number represents the approx break point board. Im not 100% sure of how effective it is. From the shots Ive bowled on, I know usually outside of 7 board is Out Of Bounds. 
I guess it all depends on what ball, with what layout, with what finish, also what your ball speed, rev rate etc....  Im sure you would be able to find a line starting outside, and shooting into the break point. 


PAP- 4in right, 2in up of center of grip.
Rev Rate-400ish
Ball Speed 18.0-19.0 mph
I score well with a slight chicken wing  
Arsenal (for now)
DV8 Hell Raiser 
DV8 Misfit- Orange and Blue, Light scuff with scotch bright to smooth out reaction
???

X2    I'd say it would probably play like the " shark " pattern...   Going with something with some surface and a pin down drilling would probably be best....   And depending on the # of games you are bowling, once the lanes break down and you get some burn, you can goto a polished up ball...

The Rule of 31 is a good starting point but do not get stuck thinking it is the only way to play any pattern. The age of the lane the mfg on the lane surface, oiling machine etc has a lot to do with it also. We where Just where on a 40 ft Kegal sport shot . If following the rule of 31is always true we should have been around 8,9,10. This one played around 4,5,6, all night. So in your warm up try a few different lines you might be surprised what works.

High Street is a Kegel house shot and plays pretty easy!!! We've tried all the recreational patterns and we use Stone Street which is a 42' pattern and I liked High Street, but we decided not to use it cause a lot of people wouldn't like the longer pattern. I play up the boards with either a Revolver or Nexus Solid cause of the great hold around 10 board. I can play further right, but there's a lot of hook outside!!! The rule of 31 is great to use on the challenge and sport conditions, but you don't have to use it on the recreational/house patterns cause of the free hook outside!! Just my $.02, Bruce


Train a child up in the way they should go and when they are old they will do some "Damn Good Bowling", be a "DV8" and not turn from it, besides bowling starts with a Big B!

Exactly... No real complication with this pattern... Its pretty much a wall.
 
We play a league with different patterns every week - on high street I had my high series by 50 pins of my next highest which was on Main street, just a longer wall...
