Rosin Bags
« on: April 19, 2007, 07:20:37 AM »
I went the vending machine at the bowling alley and was confused by the number of options in regards to rosin bags.  There Rosin bags, hand conditioners, etc etc.  Do all these products accomplish the same thing?  What is the difference?

Not all are the same.
The "rosin bag" is the plastic envelope with the sticky white stuff,
is for more grip.(this stuff gunks up the finger holes, if you dont clean them.)

the  others are mislabeled or miscalled as rosin bags most of time.

like the "dry bag" the ones in the cloth bag. With the dry powder
stuff is for drying a sweaty hand.(this is the only one you should get)

Then you have the "hand conditioner" which is kind like antiperspirant for the hand.

Then you have the "slide bags" like easy slide. you use this on your shoe to
make you slide more.

There is also a slide you use on your thumb/fingers to
release real easy.

I thought easy slide was not allowed on your bowling shoes.  It was made for ball release purposes, and applied to the fingers/thumb.  I don't think it is legal to use on the shoes.

Old argument.  It's legal if used properly.  Most don't use it properly.

As for "bags" I like either the puffball or the dry powder ones.  It's a quirk of mine, but I have to have something in my hand when I'm not actually on the approach.  Bags are better than beer.

Easy Slide was orginally made for the shoes, alot of guys use it on their fingers/thumb that works also.
Ragnar is right "it's legal if used properly. Most don't use it properly."

Some just use way too much and cover the sole with the stuff, then it leaves footprints of it all over the approaches.

You just use alittle, rub it around then brush it off. Then your good to go.
