I have to give props.....to the threat of a lawsuit had the USBC not recognized his "900's".  It is my feeling that, if you take the lawyers out of the equation, Robert Mushtare Jr. would have zero rings to wear.  I've  read a couple of places that this is the feeling around the USBC.

In the interview referenced in another post from their local television station...and an article referenced on bowl.com  it was stated they went to the center.

I'm sure they were also convinced that given the system there that he could not alter the score sheet without someone knowing it!

He shot it!

Imagine how much different his life would be if he had 3 899s!

I've actually shot a full week of 900 series, one per day, pre-bowling for various leagues.  That was a total of 7 back-to-back 900 series.

I just didn't submit my scores because I didn't think anyone would believe me and I don't have any money to hire lawyers.

As previously posted, it is at the very least an extreme statistical anomaly.  Consider the fact that holes-in-one in golf are more common than 900 series in bowling.  How many people have had more than one hole-in-one in a lifetime, let alone in three weeks?  Any golf-addict, please enlighten me.

I'm not saying Mushtare did or didn't do it - I'm just saying that it is very extremely improbable.

Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. They investigated and couldn't prove that he didn't do it. So they had no choice...simple as that. That kid is going to be marked the rest of his life whenever he bowls. I figure he'll quit bowling pretty soon because of the pressure. Enough said.

I heard he ended up averaging near 250 in that league.

More like 212 to 216 in a travelling league.

WE would have no opinion.  We would  never have heard of him.  Those who knew him would think well of him, congratulate him and have good expectations of him.  Just as anyone who actually saw him shoot 900 would think well ofhim, congratulate him and have good expectations for him.  But, since no one has actually witnessed his feats no one can say good things of him.

Sounds wishy-washy to me.  

I am in current possession of the Hope Diamond as I stole it 3 months ago.  I was hoping that this would put me in the stratosphere of grand thieves everywhere.  They sent over this dude and he said that he couldn't prove that I didn't have it, so I guess I do have it.  Whooopeeee!!!!  I rule!!!!

I could come to your house and say to the FBI that I can't prove that you weren't responsible for the new Coke formulation from the 1980's.  I hope they can arrest you after that for that travesty of a product!!!!

So, saying that you couldn't prove it wasn't done sounds a little bit dopey, doesn't it?

I personally have never seen him bowl.

He is from a very small town of people with small town values...I have been there and near there as my Mother graduated from the same high school.

I have seen this...

PS to me ...he looks like many other powerful bowlers I've seen with one or two more strikes in him when needed!  
PPS I've seen 850s and 860s... like two strikes away.  And a friend has 36 in a row between league and after!

My son is going to be station in Fort Drum in about 4 months from now and I am going to take my equipment and shoot three 900. Now that will be a record since I only started bowling 4 years ago. I will give credit to all the BR people that have help me get there. I can hear the roar of the crowd. Prebowling or practice is the same thing. Will have nobody spoiling my line of strikes.

The statistical improbability would be less because we're talking about at least one shot away from perfection which is much more common than perfection.

Even so, the above scores in the timeframe given are still an extreme improbability.
