Old Fart Bowling
« on: January 10, 2008, 10:55:09 PM »
Last night was a fiasco.  Couple of low teens first two then hit the first 7....no problem....then the back seized up getting out of my chair (yes children it does happen!).  I hit the floor took a few minutes and finished out for a 299.  Now I need a cane, walker, wheelchair, or Ms. Spears!  Let's hear it for the geriatric crowd!

The older you get, the longer it takes the aiming fluid(Budweiser seems to be the best) to get in your system. Great third game. Remember, when geezer bowling, it's best to start 30min prior to bowling!

The aiming fluid takes a bigger toll as we age also.  I remember the day when.............

Great shooting dogman!!  How about a ramp so you can roll up in your wheelchair and roll the ball down the ramp...lol

The older I get the more aches and pains I have...the young guns on my team don't understand, but I tell them they eventually will!

Dogman - You must take your vitamin I at several stages during the day before attempting to bowl at night.  I am 59 (big 6-0 this year), and I never attempt to bowl unless I've take my vitamin I.  You know - IBUPROFEN

That was a sweet game, Dog.  It's a shame you didn't finish it off.  Looked like you tugged it just a board or two, and that was all she wrote.  Considering how bad your back was, I was impressed you could even throw the ball.

If I didn't wake up hurting in the morning, I'd think I was dead!

And Lord help me with the 20 minute breaks! It really, really hurts to throw that first ball after a 20 minute "rest".

So I suppose you are gonna blame your sore back for the 12th frame 9 count, huh?

Great shooting, in spite of the back. Backs and knees are the bugaboos of bowling.

On my Tuesday 4 person league, 3 of the 4 of us are past 70. Prior to and during bowling we each do our "organ recital", complaining about our various aches and pains.

However, when considering the alternative, hurting joints are just a sign of age.

As the pundit once said: "If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself."
