Ball reaction
« on: May 22, 2005, 03:01:14 AM »
I know a lot of you are much more knowledgable about
balls and ball reactions than I am. I have a question
I hope somebody can help we with. My favorite ball ever
was the Brunswick Azure Zone Pro. The one I have is 16
lbs. Because of age I have had to go down in weight to
15 lb balls. This ball had an RG of 2.617 and a DIFF of
.056. My question is, If I can find another ball with
and RG and Diff very close to this, can I expect a similar
reaction? Your help and advice would be appreciated.

In general, these days, as opposed to time when the Axure Pro Zone came out, balls are nowhere near as aggressive as these original Brunswick particles balls were. That is why it/they had such high RG values.

One of the few balls that fit in that old category are the Legend particle balls made by Lanemasters. Their particles are industrial diamonds. Balls like the Yeah Baby! (yes, unusual name) and the New Standard have fairly high RGs, but they, IN GENERAL, will hook more, not as early and be more flexible than the Azure was.

3 other balls that are very aggressive are the Brunswick Goliath, the LaneMasters Guaranteed and the brand new Visionary  Centaur AMB particle and are balls fairly similar to your Azure when it was new. I strongly suspect they will be MUCH stronger than your Azure in its current very used condition. While it must still seem aggressive, it is probably much tamer than when it was new. So, no matter what ball you get to replace it, be careful abot your expectations.
