Oldest ball you have that you STILL use?
« on: November 20, 2008, 04:38:35 AM »
There's been alot of posts lately about how many balls one buys a year, etc.  Granted I've bought some new ones this year, but I have 5 others that I still have a great use for. The "oldest" one I still use is a Track Mean Machine.  It was released 7/06.

Does it really matter?

Oldest one that sees use only in training: Blue Hammer from 1993.

Oldest ball that sees frequent use and spreads terror at league adn tournaments: Revolution Renegade from 2000

I miss my Cuda/c

was  great ball...

I still use my Brunswick ShockZone, Demolition Zone, and Battlezone Bullet.

I threw my 300 game last year with my lime green Columbia Messenger.

And in my most difficult house that I bowl in, I 've gone back to throwing my old Columbia Cuda/C, with success.

I use my AMF RPM Swirl (1996) every week.  I also use a Quantum Leap as a go to ball in a different house.

Quantum Helix.  Ain't no one can top that for classics!

I think a ball company should invest more in the idea of 2 different coverstocks on the same ball.  I remember back in the day WRW made the Helix look pretty damn good when prizes for 1st were in the $100,000 range.  I do believe he won a nice 6 figure check rolling this bad boy!

I don't know why people stopped using the Black Widow also.  I haven't seen anyone in my leagues use it since it came out.  Apparently if it is a year or more old, it sucks.
