It will not be a bowling center. RG&E (electric utility) has been after that property for years to expand their Operations Center. I'd be shocked if it doesn't end up that way.

AMF Fairview has terminated their Thursday-Sunday leagues, a number of them (well, at least one) has moved over to Clover. I agree, I think it's a very shortsighted move. But do you really expect anything else from AMF?

It's going to be tough for Shullek to find a place as Begnrs to Pros have almost every center locked up already. I hope he finds somewhere, if only to keep this from being a 1 proshop town.

to be honest pizza man not really amf is like any big corporation all they care about is the money  and people will not spend money to bowl in subpar conditions. I hope joe finds a place  he has gates maybe he could get into bowl a roll if he still wants two locations. its just sad to see the way bowling has gone down hill and to see this what has happened with companies like amf running centers you can see why bowling is in a decline

I agree.  We need to add that the AMF management of centers, and the whole regional management systems is terrible.

Ha!  I have first hand knowledge of that, Dpunky.  The GM and F+B manager at my center are freakin' useless.  The GM was a manager at a big name, fast food type establishment before he/she was given the position LOTS of experience in the bowling industry.  The Food and Beverage "manager" is a joke.  I think his/her salary should be switched to hourly.....boy it would suck because he/she would actually have to WORK and be in the building.  The snackbar runs out of food and supplies so often its become second nature to hear," We're out of (enter food, condiment, beverage or supply here)."

But unfortunately, I'm not about to leave my position.  I can't afford to start all over with a new career, so I guess I'm just along for the ride downward.

I have heard a lot bashing about AMF but no reasons. Why is AMF ruining bowling? Back it up.

I'm hearing all kind of things lately about AMF.  One thing I heard is they turned away a 44 team friday night league in the Dallas area because they wanted to keep the center open for open play.  Two,  They are selling off centers in the east and the west.  and  Three, a center here in Oklahoma has been without a FM for over 6 months and the c mechanics also quit. Who knows things are always crazy but to turn away a 44 lane league???

this post is not meant to bash amf its telling facts of what we see, olympic when you walk in is dirty carpets messy bathrooms. gates bowl and empire here in rochester are not like that and there amf owned. but there are also a couple of amf centers here that charge 5.00 a game over the weekend. if your a family of 5 that wants to go bowling is gonna cost you. example shoe rental 5x3=15 for shoe rental bowling 3 games each 15.00x5 75.00 it just cost you 90.00 to take your family out thats insane and tha dosent include food or drink. and to throw leagues out thats crazy. they are a stable source of income. the usbc wants people to join leagues and bowl but how can they when they dont have a league to join beacuse the closest center or only center near them may be owned by amf and all they want to cater to is open play

My center has close to the same rates $4 on the weekends before 10pm, after that its $5 a game.  The rock n bowl is $16 plus tax a person 10-1am during the summer.  I don't know what the rates are during the week, but its pricey.  Its unbelievable that parents and people spend that much to bowl.  But corporate makes the prices, not us.
