What do you guys use for heavy oil
« on: January 09, 2005, 12:41:46 PM »
What balls are you guys using for your heavy oil/flood condition. I played with my particle deisel today as it was the strongest ball I had and only after 3 1/2 games did the ball stop coming back with huge wet oil streaks on it. So needless to say the ball didn't move to much so what ball would you guys play in that situation.
Thanks
Brian

C-300 Black Game(600grit) or my Reaction Roll(400grit)

Columbia chaos seconded -  500 games and 2 crack finger holes and still the best on oil for me. Some of the grit levels you guys use are crazy dull, house owners and lane men must love you.

Thing Lives. Box Condition. Reads the Mid-lane great.

If the lane conditions are the reason for your bad scores for your bad scores, then they are also the reason for your good ones!!
If you blame the lane conditions for your bad scores, then you had better thank them for your good ones!!

I bowl a tournament which uses long heavy oil. I usually use my Scorcher and this is the only ball (in my experience) that moves in real flood. I also have the SCB and the Angle Evolution Tour but they take a backseat to the Scorcher. Now, in the New Year (2005) tournament , a guy who used a polished Ebonite Matrix and a Quantum Helix (Part Reactive/Part Urethane) won the tournament. While we are shooting the inside line, this guy is on the second arrow shooting cross alley to the pocket. He is releasing the ball so smoothly that you see the ball get into a roll after about thirty feet and finish. A few times, he will miss his release and the ball will hit light. But it is really the bowler. I think someone said here, "there are no heavy oil balls, just heavy oil bowlers". Until I saw this guy won the tournament with his Helix, I would have said baloney to this.

Low-RG, High-differential equipment with a dull surface drilled for maximum flare.

Kill the back row (or maybe this should read "make your spares, dummy")
