Favorite Solid & Pearlized Reactives
« on: January 12, 2005, 01:29:52 AM »
I thought we could try to talk about a specific coverstocks, with reactives.  Obviously these "favorites" change with time, but let's list your currect favorites.

I'm limited to Dyno-thane, so here I go.

Solid Reactive: Vendetta Black. Phil has a winner with this one.  It's a medium-strong reactive and takes polish very well.  The core is tall and symmetrical, easy to drill.  Revs up nicely.  My second would be The Thing Lives.  Much stronger cover (Soaker) and core.  Hits like a tank, I just never get to use it.

Pearlized Reactive: I'll go with the Element Au79.  Surprisingly usable for the Soaker coverstock.  The core was successful with the first Element but pearlizing the cover really brought out its character.  Better than average length and medium-strong backend.

Your turn!

Tony--Right now I am liking My Visionary Violet Gargoyle laid out 105 deg. drilling pin next to ring no weight hole.  Great ball on most house conditions.  704 last night with 279 last game.  Haven't shot under 650 since I started using it.

Violet is a solid.....color very reminiscent of the old Violet Offset 3-D's.

For a pearl best one this year...DT VPP.  I know it's not a straight out pearl but pretty close in my book.  Like this ball on dry heads with some carry down.

Well I'll chime in I guess.

Solid Reactive - Element, when the shot allows this things is an area beast.  I have it drilled fairly odd (4"x2", pin 1" above ML) compared to any of my other balls, but I shot a sloppy 279 with it and am pretty sure it'll be the first ball I hit 300 with.

Pearl reactive - Chrome Yellow Power Groove.  It's the only true pearl I have anymore.  All I can say is I don't think pearl should read the lanes as early as this does.  That PK 17 is something else.  Useful ball when it comes time to bounce something off the burned up track.

Solid Reactive:
Storm Tour Power

Pearl Reactive:
Columbia Beast (Original, not the Mica one)

FWIW, I've tried newer equipment and really like my  Track Rule and Storm Flash Point. However, the previously mentioned balls really work good for me and what I face as far as lane conditions.
