Appropriate Amount of Time / Action
« on: January 23, 2005, 10:52:38 AM »
Hey everyone.  I have made many, many transactiosn on this site and up until this point had been extremely successful... never having a bad experience.  Well, recently that has changed.  I agreed to buy a ball and sent paypal payment two weeks ago.  Since that time I have heard absolutely nothing from the seller.  I have tried contacting him both through this site and by email.  I can't find any other information about the guy (phone number, address, etc) online.  So my question is, how long should you give someone to hold up their end of the deal?  Personally, I think that if nothing happens in two weeks... its probably not going to happen.  What are some courses of action I can take in order to get some cash back.. or get the ball?  I have the address for the internet fraud complaint form...  But again, I don't know much info about this guy...  Can I request funds back from paypal?  Any input or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
S^2

You can file a complaint with paypal.
They are pretty aggressive about going after someone who doesn't deliver.

My hubby's in a dispute right now - he sold a piece of electronics to a guy - worked when it left here, the guy claims it doesn't work now. The buyer was supposed to file a claim with the shipper - instead, he filed a complaint with paypal. We have a SIGNIFICANT amount of money sitting there... And don't know what's going to happen.

So - I'd say Paypal is a good bet to go after him.
