Ok guys and gals, I think most of you will enjoy this story as you have probably experianced this for yourselves. So my dad and I went to the lanes to throw a couple games and drink a few beers to gear up for the new season that starts this comming monday. We each had a couple balls on the rack and I was experimenting with some surface prep with a scotch-brite pad. I had a coulumbia 300 noize which I dulled up(dull equipment works well with my game), a Bedlam, a Burn and a newly acquired Rayzr. So dad and i started practicing and getting loose and I noticed a 17-18 year old staring intently at the balls on our rack. So, I said hi to him and he gave me a look and said, "Whats that charcoal ball you are throwing there?". I told him it was a Columbia noize and I walked to the bar and grabbed two beers and headed back to the lanes. On my way back I asked him if that was the first time he had ever seen a dull bowling ball before, again he gave me a grin like he was better than me and said, "I have never seen anyone throw charcoal on a typical house shot!". I turned around and said, this isnt a THS. It was 9:30 at night, lanes were somewhat flat oil from the open bowlers during the day, not a THS. He kept laughing at me and heckling at me until I threw 5-6 strikes in a row and he got up and walked away and I didnt see him the rest of the night. Just another example of our dumb youth thinking they know everything.
