If you could post one tip that you've learned through your own game or something that another has taught you and you've applied for successful results in your bowling game, what would that tip be?

Mine would be to take every game one shot at a time. You can't shoot 300 in one game without putting together 12 1-baggers to start. I learned this from one of my teammates at a tournament recently where he would have no idea how many strikes he had in a row, because his mindset was just to get one strike in a row and then move on to the next frame. Good tip to keep yourself relaxed and in the moment in my opinion.

Don't listen to the people on BR . . .

Or . . . Focus on having fun, if you try to hard, it's just easier to let yourself down.

Kick yourself in the forehead everytime you make a bad shot. It may not help your game, but it will definitely take my mind off of my game, reducing the pressure I put on myself, and resulting in better and more consistent shots.
No, you may not handle my balls. Well....maybe just for a little while.

One small step at a time...

That is..one strike at a time, then move on.. or ..move one/two boards..or..change balls...what ever YOU think helps your game...do it one step at a time.

You can't 'fix' or 'get better shots' by doing two things at once, you'll never know what was/is wrong with your game  unless you do one thing at a time.

Now, if I could only listen to my own advise...

Play slow. No hustle. Let gravity rule. Stay focussed on the next shot.

Do not look at the scoreboard if you feel that things are going right.

After every shot, think about something entirely unrelated to bowling, even if only for a second. Then restart your pre-shot routine over again.

Concentrate on your game and not your opponents. Cover your spares and practice.........

If you are struggling and trying everything you know. Stop trying.
Trying usually brings failure, just relax and let things flow freely.
Tough to do but it works great.

I've seen so many people get mad when they leave the 10 pin (or 7, or 8 or 9 pin). Their anger stays with them, not permitting them to focus on the spare. You can tell 9 times out of 10, when such a person, as I used to be, will miss that easy spare.

My solution was to keep the desire to express that anger within me, but off to the "mental" side, UNTIL after I made the spare. My 10 pin conversion rate went way up after I learned to do this.

So, I'd suggest doing the same to everyone who has this issue. Oddly, you'll find that once you've made the spare, that anger will rarely surface. Making the spare kind allows it flow away, so to speak.

Never, ever, get up on the approach with more than two (at the very most) things that you're thinking about; ideally you should have only one thing on your mind, be it timing, swing, target, whatever.  If you're thinking of three or more things you're thinking too much.  More simply, if you don't know what you're going to do when you get on the approach, don't go there.
