If you could post one tip that you've learned through your own game or something that another has taught you and you've applied for successful results in your bowling game, what would that tip be?

Mine would be to take every game one shot at a time. You can't shoot 300 in one game without putting together 12 1-baggers to start. I learned this from one of my teammates at a tournament recently where he would have no idea how many strikes he had in a row, because his mindset was just to get one strike in a row and then move on to the next frame. Good tip to keep yourself relaxed and in the moment in my opinion.

When you're having problems...
Slow your feet down, it's not a race with the ball.

open, close... I repeat this everyshot just to remind myself that I need to finish in a closed position.. it doesn't matter what happens throughout the approach as long as it starts and finishes correctly, for me this happens to be starting closed very tight, opening up completely for balance and leverage then closing rapidly to impart the energy onto the ball.

1 step at a time
1 mark at a time
1 frame at a time
1 game at a time
1 set at a time
and most importantly of all
1 ball at a time if you make a bad shot the ball b4 pick up the spare and then go on from there.

You should be spending more money on coaching and less on equipment.

This tip comes from one of the greatest form bowlers of all time and also one of the greatest major championship and TV bowlers of all time.

He taught it to me while practicing.  It garnered me a lot of money quickly!

No one ever talks about it, thinks about or trys to do it but it works.

Dave Davis (PBA Hall of fame and Multiple major championship winner)practices the first 30 to 45 minutes of every practice session working on only this and has since 1957.  Then he goes on to scoring and sparing.

"Swing you ball within 2 inches of your ankle"  Every shot with your slide heel canted a little towards your bowling arm(not straight).

PS 99% of you will read this, gloss over it, forget it, ignore it, not do it, make humorous comments....BUT the one guy that reads it, gets it, and does it out of every say 1000, will send me an email telling me the thousands he made with this tip!  It works EVERY time for the few who decide to do it!  Note..Odds say....You won't be the one!
PPS I stopped doing it or focusing on it and it shows!

The best way to end up balanced at the foul line is to start out balanced at the beginning of your approach.  Have your feet a few inches apart, not close together, and have your knees slightly flexed.  This is a much better balanced position than standing feet together and knees locked.  Have someone stand to your side and gradually push you and see which position (feet apart, knees flexed or feet together, knees locked) enables you to maintain balance longer.  If you start out unbalanced, it is so much easier to slightly lose your balance on the way to the foul line and maybe drift more.
