older equipment versus newer stuff? preferences?
« on: April 27, 2014, 03:07:47 AM »
pretty simple topic here, do you prefer older equipment or new stuff? if you could go in depth about your reasons for your choice i would just like to see everyones opinion on the matter. Me, I prefer the older stuff? why? because as long as you keep up maintenance on the older stuff it can still work for you on the lanes. Example, I have a 2006 remake of the purple rhino pro, it uses the same cover and core from the original 90s release. i also have an original ebonite crush/r. love that ball it hooks so much i used it on a sport shot with very good success. hooks more than some of my newer stuff. i feel like all the new releases are just another hook-in-a-box and i dont like that. i need some variety. i know all about different layouts and all that stuff, but when it comes down to it, ive beaten people with my older gear and they have new stuff. i cant afford to buy 4 new balls each year and feel the people that do are severely overlapping in their equipment and thusly, wasting money. im not saying i dont have newer equipment, because i do, i just seem to be leaning towards the older gems.
