Out Of Action
« on: April 19, 2004, 03:42:00 AM »
Auto wise, this hasn't been a very good year for me.  Looks like I've lost the use of my right shoulder for about 6-8 weeks.  Dislocation.

I was heading home from league, running maybe 45-50, young girl pulled out in front of me.  Don't know how, but I was able to get the rear of my car around enough to hit her a glancing blow on the drivers door.  Luckily, no serious injuries.  Our car was totaled though.

Oh yeah, got a 300 Wednesday nite, was hoping for that elusive 299 to complete the hat trick for the year.

I'll drop in from time to time once I get back to work in 2-3 weeks.

Sorry about the car, but sure glad to hear you are in one piece, almost.  Take care and heal fast, I still plan on the Hoinke and Peterson in August.

On edit.... Maybe you'll have to become one of those ???? lefties you love so much

Oh and congratulations on the 300

SrKegler - nice job on the 300, my condolences on the car accident.  What hat trick were you looking for?  298, 299 (missing), 300?  If so, I'm in the same boat, shall we race after you're all healed up?  (no fair cheating on that last shot!)

Hey salt,

Sorry to hear about the car.  I hope you get
healed up soon.

Good to see you still have those 3's in you though.

Glad to know you're reasonably ok.
Take good care of that shoulder, and maybe you can get that 299 before July 31!

Why is a dislocated shoulder keeping you out for 6 weeks?
Unless you are having surgery on it, you should be good to go in a week or two.

I just wrestled the U.S. Open with one and it came out in the 2nd round match. I was still able to finish the tourney and place.

Hat trick, 11 in a row, 298, 299 300 800 within 12 months.

Kevin, unfortunately I've been having a lot of trouble with my shoulder before, just tore the muscles pretty bad this time.  Doc says no bowling for 3 weeks, then we'll start therapy to try and regain some strength and range of motion.  Us old pharts don't heal as quick as you young studs.

TP, my favorite [deleted] lefty.  As tempting as switching sides sounds, I'm not eligible to even try it in any of my houses.  They have this silly rule that you don't have to move or adjust.  Since I know how to move, it would be considered an unfair advantage.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

Sr, CONGRATS on the 300! Too bad about the shoulder. As far as the car, it's just metal/plastic/rubber and can be replaced. I have seen way too many fires and accidents, and always amazed at how many people fprget that most material things CAN be replaced, but forget that our lives/health need to be priority #1!

Stay in touch, and when you are back rolling, don't forget that Buffalo/Niagara Falls is always awaiting your arrival to bowl/socialize, etc.

SrK .. Sorry to hear the bad news! Thank God all came through the accident in one piece!

I hurt my knuckles/wrist on my bowling hand a few weeks ago .. my first thought was I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO BOWL AGAIN! When I was younger . a few days and I'd be back in action. This little condition took almost THREE WEEKS to GET OVER! OLD AGE is a son-of-a-gun!

A messed up shoulder must be driving you CRAZY! Once you can't use it .. you realize how LUCKY you've BEEN.

Hope the young lady is OK .. wish you a fast recovery!

Sorry to hear SrK, most importantly, everybody's okay.  You'll be back before you know it...never wished a 299 on someone before but in your case, I guess I can make an exception.  Get well...good 3...

SrKegler-

Congrats on the 300.  My bad bowling must have rubbed off on you, but instead of getting the bad luck in bowling you got it in regular life.  I am still planning on the hoinke as well so you better get soon fast cause I owe you a few beers as I recall.
