I've lost all my powers OH NO!!!!
« on: April 07, 2005, 07:12:38 AM »
I started this season with a 15 mph ball speed, 300-350 rpms, 90* maximum axis tilt (spinner spinner chicken dinner), PAP 4 3/8 over and 0, pretty good post and follow through, making most of my spares, striking and having fun. After the third game of my second collegiate tourney, I sprained my wrist but was too dumb to realize what I did and too dumb to stop bowling. After that, I began to hit up and loft the ball, miss spares, lost about 75 to 100  rpms, lost 2 miles of speed(vital because I didn't have much speed to begin with), and lost my 90* tilt which lowered my track. Not to mention it wasn't fun learning to bowl from scratch. After Geterdone's thrilling post about why bowlers are so fat, I realized that I had lost about 7-8 pounds and lost all my carry power. Since starting college, I've lost 13 lbs. to this date and still losing. After working on some key aspects of my game I am about 65% back to where I want to be. My question is Should I see a doctor or Should I just continue to work on my game and bowl through the slight pain I get now and again? I just don't want to go to the doctor and have him tell me that I need surgery and lose a good portion of next season.

I realized that I am a bum! The more I learn the worse I bowl. The faster my feet the more I strike. Why?? I can't tell you why cause I don't know myself. I have learned that you perfect what you do best and be good at what you do. Loft the ball, fast feet, whatever, just enjoy the game and don't complain when you lose. Learn from it and move on.
"I live to bowl but great bowlers bowl to live."-my philosophy.

I have left a pocket 3-9 with a 16lb bowling ball. How'd I do it?????? UHHHHH IOONO Practice James has yet to step up to tourney James.

Go to the doctor! Is missing part of next season worth possible permanant damage?

I guess you're right. I just hate to stop bowling for a possible 3-5 month period but I see the urgency. Thanks man.
