Bowling during Obama's administration
« on: November 05, 2008, 03:08:57 PM »
Just got this from a friend of mine - it was worded for golf. I've made a few changes.
USBC RULES CHANGE

IT APPEARS THE DOCUMENT IS NOW OFFICIAL.   SEND
IT TO EVERY Bowler YOU KNOW.

THE USBC WOULD LIKE TO INFORM ALL BOWLERS:

There are MAJOR rule changes to the game of bowling as a result of the new Democratic administration in Washington.

This is only a preview as the complete rule book is being rewritten now.

Here are some of the basic changes.

Bowlers with averages:
 - above 200 will have their league fees increase by 35%
 - between 151 and 200 will see no increase in league fees
 - 150 and below will play for free and even get a check from the bowling center

The $ amount put in by the bowler for brackets and pots will be as follows:
 - for averages above 200 an additional $10
 - between 151 and 200 no additional amount
 - 150 and below you will receive the total amount in the pot and you do not even have to play.

The term "gimme" will be changed to "entitlement" and will be used as follows:
 - averages above 200, no entitlements
 - averages between 151 and 200, entitlements for no-tap strikes
 - averages below 150, if first ball stays on the lane, no need to shoot the spare. It's scored.

These entitlements are intended to bring about fairness in scoring so
that the final scores of all players will be about the same.

In addition, a Player will be limited to a max of 5 strikes and 4 spares. Any excess must be given to those fellow players who have
not yet scored a strike or spare. Only after all players have received
a strike or spare from the player making the strike or spare, can that Player
begin to count his score again.

The current USBC handicap system will be used for the above purposes
but the term "score with handicap" will be available only for scoring those
players with averages 150 and below.

This is intended to "redistribute" the success of winning by making
sure that in every competition the below 150 average players will
post only "handicap score" against every other player's scratch score.

These new Rules are intended to CHANGE the game of bowling.
Bowling must be about Fairness Only, it should have nothing to do with Ability.

I still say the two most damaging things to happen in the 1990's happened during the Clinton administration:  NAFTA and the development of the easier THS.  Both of these things changed the landscape forever, and no one can agree on what to do to rectify either situation.

Geez...no geopolitical extremes between those two things!!!

Could NAFTA have passed without congressional republican support?

Could the THS exist without demand from league bowlers?

Yeah, I'm sure Clinton is kicking himself over the THS!!! Oh, so very damaging...gimme a break....are you even moderately serious with that statement??

I concur.

And, NAFTA could very well have passed without republican support from congress. It's called "fasttrack legislation" in which the congress becomes an unnecessary third party in the mess of a government we've gotten to. It's all part of the expansion of the power of the president to a dangerous level (all of which coincides with the downfall of the roman empire when compared to the history of the US "empire")

Everybody blames Clinton for Nafda and to a point you are right. But it really boils down to the big wigs at all the corparate offices who made the decisions to move there operations out of the country to line there pockets. So the rich can get richer.

Mumzie,

Shame on you! You want to make political statements, this is not the {expletive deleted} place. This doesn't have one damned thing to do with bowling and you know it.

A joke, maybe? I see it as a great well written parody on
 socialism.     GS
