Okay, so I'm having quite an issue. I'm a high school girl on the school bowling team (junior). Lately, I've been having issues with my fingers. They tend to swell up extremely for absolutely no reason (they can go up and down about 5 finger grip sizes in about 10 minutes). Yes, I have seen doctors and have tried almost anything to fix the issue but nothing seems to work. Yesterday, however, I threw the ball two-handed for fun but it turned out to be what I was needing. My coach says for a beginner, I have decent form except the ball over hooks into the left pocket for me. Currently, I'm using the Roto Grip Idol Pearl and it seems to have too much of a back end (and I have tried throwing a weaker ball like my old Pearl Winner and it does the same thing). Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem? And yes, I'm standing all the way on the left throwing at the middle arrow, and I don't really have the money for new equipment. Please help
- I do have video footage if anyone would need to see it

Primarily a ball speed problem. if you are just starting to go 2 handed it will take a while to polish your technique, and improve ball speed.

2 things to consider here if you are unable to change equipment:
1) Are you coming around the ball causing more side turn? You may want to look at coming through the ball for more forward roll (less axis tilt) which will cause a less drastic reaction.
2) A light scuffing of the ball surface will allow the ball to bleed energy as it goes down the lane creating a less violent/more controllable reaction.
Good Luck and Good Bowling !!

The problem with scuffing is that it just makes the ball roll out earlier. The purpose of the 2 handed delivery is to increase rev rate. If this cant be accomplished without a commensurate increase in ball speed there is little in terms of surface adjustments that will help. If you have only been using 2 hands for a few days you have lots of room to improve your speed and overall delivery

Urethane house ball works if you have no other options till you can increase ball speed or learn to take away some of your rotation to create more forward roll
