Figjam/ Noticed no tap
« on: November 11, 2013, 09:44:18 PM »
With all the great bowling done in this country and reported on this site I shouldn't mention it but it was fun for me.

In the past I have won a lot of no tap tournies often both scratch and handicap while not being such a great carry bowler.

Well my speed and carry seem to be coming up slightly but I had a decent set tonight by this sites standards but what caught my attention is that I had an 8 count and also a washout.

Otherwise I had all 9 or Xs tonight.  I think it might have been my highest no tap set ever.  Last two games 300 300 no tap.  It was real league.

Nice bowling.

Is there a certain set of pins you tend to leave?  I know bad carry happens, but it seems like you could work on changing your entry angle slightly, maybe find a higher carry percentage, or as you said, raise your speed up  little bit.

Elimino Pee....

Thanks for noticing....now it wasn't a bad set at all!  My high in this house official.  When I originally won a bunch of no taps one year many years ago...about 4 no tap handicap and scratch I was just learning to bowl left handed with reactive.....and I was SLOW.  I had bowled one season with a Yellow Dot lefty many years before.

Common leave on this jumpy top hat is 6 pin....either a little slow or a little steep leading to slow.

Right now my coach has me working to build speed, flat spot, and steady footwork.  Last night was one of the best....more work to do.  I can identify about 7 to 8 shots where my feet got halting instead of steady and building into the shot.

I will say I'd rather have 6 pin on this shot than what most of the lefties have on this shot and It is wiggle down lane and flat 7s.  They are using symmetrics on this wettish breakpoint shot and can't carry(I can't either with my symmetrics at this house).  My Mission X trick drilling gives me the best look of any lefty in the house if only I threw it like the best!

Working on that part of it!

Over the weekend I bowled at a couple different houses.  At one place, ringing 10 after ringing 10, even with moving left a couple boards at a time.  I discovered moving my breakpoint closer to the gutter helped alleviate the 10s.  I'm still experimenting with this line, but it shows promise
