Overseas equip
« on: April 27, 2008, 01:00:22 PM »
This might be a stupid question but its something Ive always wanted to know. Why do ball companies make different balls for overseas? Why don't they just make the same ball for everybody? It also seems like they make more balls for overseas than they do here in America. Why?

I'm pretty sure most of the overseas balls are made a tad different because they don't use as much oil overseas.. So everything, high-performance wise, made here would typically be way too strong for over there. The point is, they just make certain balls either factory finished weaker (shinier), or they just make the ball a little weaker.

From what i've seen and read, that seems to be it. Otherwise, I have no clue. Some of the balls made overseas look like awesome US releases. I don't know exactly what the point is.

Different lane conditions, but also different demographics.  Overseas bowlers may prefer different color combinations and names compared to American bowlers.

also, they tend to release a lot of cover/core combos that are unavaliable in US (I love my Track Mutant Joker, which is the Core of the Mutant, but the cover of the Freak Out....excellent combo).

Also, Brunswick tends to put EVERY cover/core combo together for overseas (not that it's a bad thing...like my Bionic Zone 1 as well).
