Do you open doors with your bowling hand?
« on: March 18, 2004, 12:26:47 AM »
I'm in a building with about 5000 people.  The rest rooms get fairly busy and I'm absolutely convinced that I'll reach for the handle just as someone comes flying out and SNAP! -- there goes the bowling hand.  Anyone else share this phobia or other strange obsession?

Sounds like you have a little OCD. I do too, and I often think of exactly the same thing. I am constantly being careful of my bowling hand. Problem is, I am so right handed that I cannot even pick my nose with my left hand so my right hand (bowling hand) gets used for everything! But, I am careful on things like opening doors. Not to worry, a little OCD is good!

I steer clear of the doors, I also don't give teammates high five with my bowling hand, only my left, but part of that is I don't want my hand any oiler than it already is. other than that, I just make sure my hand is out of harms way most of the time.

Gee, if a bunch of league hacks are this paranoid about hurting their bowling hand, imagine how the pro's feel.  I wonder if WRW carries "I crushed the fingers in my right hand, and I'll never bowl again" insurance?

Seadrive, i bet they're like that hand model in Zoolander, you know, with a protective case around their bowling hands when they aren't playing.

Now ask me how many times I practice my swing in the men's room per day, or whenever I'm in front of a mirror, or walking along any surface that even remotely resembles lanes (anything with regular spaced grooves or markings basically)
