How does one figure out their PAP?? I am curious to know because I want to familiarize myself with numerical drillings that you guys often refer to such as a 4 x 4, or 4 x 3 3/8" etc.... How do you figure out your PAP??

One of two ways...

1. Take a ball with a good track in it to your local pro shop and they can find it fairly quickly.

2. Take a low flaring ball (spare ball if you have one) down the the lanes and put a piece of tap where you think it might be.  Continue to roll the ball and adjust the tape until it spins in one spot when you release the ball.

Both are pretty easy...hope this helps?

If I use the tape method, after finding the PAP, I just measure the distance from tape to cg, right??

CG commonly means center of gravity. No, Pap is not distance of tape to CG, but the distance from the center of the grip (which is on the line from the center of the finger holes thru the center of the thumb  hole, called the centerline), grip to a line parallel to the centerline thru the PAP, called the VAL) then the distance straight up to the PAP. PAP is usually measured as distance across plus a distance up or down. See these pictures: http://www.columbia300.com/drill_patterns.pdf

Yes, sorry Charlest, that is actually what I meant. Center of Grip. Thank you for the clarification and the links.
