pap has to be atleat in the 3+" range...from what I see on that ball....a pap of less than 3" really would have to be a twirler (size of a ball cup)...If its really what you say, Id be amazed.

Thats what they said it was I have a ball spinner I guess I could check myself. And see. I honestly didnt think I tracked that low either. He seemed to have alot of knowledge and is a regional player.

how about using a white pencil around the track to show up better. From what it LOOKS LIKE no way the pap is 2 3/4 over

Of course, it's not the most accurate method, but you can find approximate PAP location by putting a piece of tape where you think your PAP is, and then throw the ball.  See if the piece of tape stays in one place as the ball goes down the first few feet of the lane.  (It will move when the ball flares later down lane, don't worry about that).  If the piece of tape stays in place, that's your PAP.  If it moves, it's not.  Try moving the piece of tape and see what happens then.

This is definitely fun to do.  One to check and see where your PAP is and two to see how the thing progresses down the lane as it starts reading it.

Okay all I checked my pap myself on 4 different balls. According to me I am 3 3/4 for my pap Maybe I mis heard what he said. Does 3 3/4 sound right on one ball it looked like about 4 inches. Please chime in someone

Actually this is THE most accurate way to locate your PAP.  I use an Armadillo, but I always finish up by marking the location with white tape and watching it.  About 10 - 15% of the time I have to move tape to get it dead on.  --  JohnP

What about changing....learning a newer release learning how to stay under the ball and getting more forward roll?  Wondering.

Your track is not bad at all.  do not change anything.  I am guesing that the pro shop did not measure your pap correctly.  based on the video, you are NOT spinning the ball.  You are turning the ball well and your hand does NOT come over the top of the ball. Your pap should be in the 4 inch an higher range.

find a good pro shop and have it checked out. again, your rrelease looks good, do not change anything.

I look at the track on my balls and it looks good to me I am prolly an inch or so from the thumb hole. I feel like I release it good and consitantly can do the same thing. Like I said I checked my pap and on 4 different balls it was from 3 3/4 to the 4 inch range depending on the ball. Is that close to normal then. Maybe he said 3 and 3/4 but I am pretty sure he said 2 3/4

86camaroman,

From watching your video you have many things going for you even though in many ways you are not a spinner you are coming around the ball early around the side of it..giving you a lower track.

I'd take a look at players like Parker Bohn III who stay under the ball much more just to give you the difference from what your style is vs. another.  For bowlers who want to take it to the next level this learning the game is paramount.  If you are happy with where you are then stay there...just giving you another opinion.

I roll the ball well and am accurate I average 200 on sport shot Have bowled a couple regionals averaged around deuce on those as well. I am a great spare maker rarely miss a single pin and average from 215 to 225 on a house shot depending on the house Some dont carry as well as others. I just didnt understand why my track was low I also feel out of time on the approach but everyone that watches me bowl in person says how good I throw the ball and how smooth I am even though I think otherwise after seeing myself on video

Not syaing you don't have decent style.

This is what I mean.  Take a look at PB III techniqure at release under the ball not around the side of it early.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=426RMGDht8g

Then, look at his grip and PAP. http://www.brunswickinsiders.com/ProStaff/ParkerBohnIII/ParkerBohnIII.htm
Parker's PAP is 5 11/16 over and 7/16 up

It's just another way to look at techniques and players abilities.  If you are happy with where you are that's great.  Just giving you other options.
