Ball layouts
« on: May 09, 2012, 09:42:49 AM »
If I were to take a pic of each of my balls layouts could anyone give me some input on what to expect as far as reaction. I have about 8 balls all drilled by different people and need a better idea of what each layout would be used for.

I don't think anyone can tell you specifically what they can be used for. That all depends on the operator....YOU. Each person is different in their likes and dislikes regarding ball layouts. Personally I like a lot of stable layouts, but most people like unstable layouts, where the pin and cg, or pin and MB are stacked. What really determmines what and when to use a certain ball is the surface, combined with your individual style.

If you really want to get some reponses, you should list your ball speed, general PAP location, ball weight, and where you like to play on the lanes. Tell whether you are rev dominant or speed dominant. Then post the pix and see what happens......
Some days you're the bug....some days you're the windshield...that's bowling!

That is what I was figuring. I was thinking someone might be able to tell me this ball will react sooner than if it was drilled this way etc. thanks

The layout won't exactly dictate the difference in ball reaction as much as each individual ball will. A layout is used to tweak the shape of the reaction the ball is supposed to give you.

If you were just looking for something as general as which ball should hook earlier or later I'm sure that could easily be figured out.
