Well, I love the Cheers theme song. I'm not into bars, but a lot of those lyrics I can relate to bowling.
I love walking in where other's know my name and are glad to see me. (big mouth and all)
Meeting new folks who share the sport.
Those moments I bowl so outstanding that I know the men on the next pair are watching me bowl with the women they normally are annoyed with because they sometimes show too little respect for the guys and talk on the approaches at the wrong time. I pity some guys in that league, have a big string going, women are unaware and distract the dudes. That ain't right. But then on the other hand, we had to fight them guys for our share of tables in back to do our smoking!!!
Traveling around with our son, it's cool to run into familiar faces from other areas and chit chatting.
Watching anyone throws a good 300! Not a lucky one, those are fun also. BUt I've seen some guys throw every ball right there!!! Those are the guys that leave an impression!!
One of these nights I hope to be there when hubby gets one. I haven't seen him do it. Some guys had the opportunity of him doing it twice in one season against them. I can't be everywhere but I sure am dispappointed when they come home and I missed a biggie night.
One of my favorite things to do, we did it a lot the one year. COme from behind and win! Been down 100 in the ninth. I was second last bowler, son was anchor. I'd look at score, see that if I struck out he'd have a chance to take it. More than most, he did do it!!! Gained a rep as force to be reconiked with.
Mom's poor anchor, too much pressure but I do great second last. Lost track how often I put all 3 there to give son chance to save game.
Honestly, I can say I enjoy watching newbies bowl their highs, even if they
beat us. Now, known sandbaggers, that aint' the same thing.
My sister-in-law enjoys bowling around me, normally is brings out her best. Stupid woman's league we were on, makes teams based on Ave. Can't pick teams.
They do a thing for holidays, put a buck up, most over ave. wins. I shot a good 200, was the one to beat for a while. My sister-in-law took it with her highest game at that time, 175. I didn't mind, she deserved it. I was happy for her.
Only bad night for me is when I know it's my form making my scores bad! I don't care if it's a hard shot and I'm bowling good and do poorly, but if it's one of those nights where I hardly hit my target and can't figure out why, and can't throw enough good ones to know if my shot works. That puts me in a foul mood.

I wish I knew as much about bowling as my son.
He's not a bragger but mom sure loves to share his good times!
