Both balls are reactive solid and asymmetrical covers are 2000 AB.
I have the NIB old ball but I like (Don't have) the NIB new ball as well.

NIB old ball.          

Diff. 0.055            

RG    2.498                    


NIB New ball

Diff. 0.052

You aren''''t going to be able to tell much just from the RG numbers.
Both balls would flare about the same with a given pin position.
The cover strength of each ball and the degree of asymmetry of each core is going to have a lot to do with the reaction.

Does the Itermediate Diff make a difference?

Old ball would be 0.028 and the new ball would be 0.015.

Cover will be the biggest difference. Depending on how you drill each ball and the weigh hole location you could the RG and Diff to be even closer then they are currently. Once again, if you drilled both identical and both had the exact same cover, you may not notice any difference at all.

Yes..  the .028 would be around 50% differential ratio(.028/.055) and the .015 would be 28% differential ratio.  The covers are going to have more to do with the reaction than anything. The chosen layout can effect this but if they were the same cover and the same layout the .028 should be more angular and transition quicker at the breakpoint/friction.  This could mean more hook or could mean faster roll out depending on the condition, speed, and release.
