Is there a rule if a team has to make up, no one from that team can be present that night of bowling. If you know that # of the rule can you tell me.

I went to bowling last night and found out that the rest of my team had an emergence and they could not bowl. We would have to do a make up. I was talking to some of my friends that were bowling when I was told that I could not be in the house. They told me that I was braking an ABC rules for being there.

I've been told a couple of times that I was breaking some rule or other. My reply is to ask them to show it to me in writing, most times they cant. As far as I know, you were not breaking any ABC rule by watching others bowl however, there may be a league rule involved but I doubt it - why would a league control who can be in a private place of business. There is a rule that says that you cannot bowl for some other team if you are doing a pre or post bowl for that week's score. (Rule 107a).

Here are a couple of rules that you can use for your case.

Rule 110c- A league cannot adopt a rule that would have the effect of not permitting any prebowling/postponements. The league must grant a prebowl/postponement when the team is unable to field a legal lineup for the following reasons: 1. some bowlers are participating in tournaments..., 2. There is sufficient cause, and 3. An emergency situation.

This one is out of the What is the answer booklet from 2003-2004
#117 When teams pre or post bowl unopposed, can the opposing team see the scores bowled by the team bowling first? There is no WIBC/ABC rule to prevent the opposing team from seeing the scores. When a league allows teams to bowl unopposed, rules can be adopted to govern this situation.

So basically it says that you do not have to leave the building, unless the league says that you cannot see the scores until the games have been made up. I would seriously suggest calling up your league president and or secretary and ask him/her if they can produce a copy of the league rules so this situation can be cleared up.

Rabbit, I'm going to have the president and secretary Show me the rule in the ABC rule book or in the league rules. The one that was mad about me being there was a guy that I took HSS from. He was causing a big commotions so secretary asked me to go home. When this happen they were only in there 5th frame of the first game. I was not even bowling his team. I was on the other side of the house from the lanes we were going to bowl. In all the years I have been bowling nothing has ever happen like this before. I will let you know how it turns out.

Since where on subject of rules..
What if you bowling a team and one of the teammates on the team is absent and the got a sub bowling in his place.. a RINGER at that.. We got halfway through the 1rst game and there he was, watching as this sub was stringing up like a fricken machine or something...

Was that legal ??

Most leagues have adopted rules that force subs to have an established 21 game average in that league before thay can be used on rolloff/championship night. During regular league nights,unless there's a specific league rule about the average of a sub,there's nothing you can do if the opposing team wants to bring in a ringer, or even a pro.

It always seems to me that there are one or 2 rotten eggs in every league. The fact that he spouted off to you like that was improper. If he did anything he should have gotten the president involved in it instead of trying to show superiority over you like that. That just shows how immature some people are when they are not the top dog.
