That 1 set of lanes that gives you Grey Hair's

So for some reason the the house I bowl at, we use lanes 1 to 8, ( small 9pm league )  well anytime we are on lanes 1-2, it gives me fits....  I mean i know the lanes are already squirelly cuz we bowl after a womens league..

But lane 1 is generally wide open to a point, but carry can be interesting lol.  lane 2, is tighter than a virgin on prom nite, and carry is about the same....  Flat tens on "good" pocket hits are not uncommon, weird pocket splits.   To put it easy, I finished off the nite with a Pocket 4-9-6 split lol.....

im not sure if its like that at most houses but where i bowl lanes 1 & 2 are a nihtmare. lane 1 hooking sometimes an arrow more then lane 2.

for me any pairs on a given day but i always have real problems with lanes 1 and 2 on almost any house theres too many variables with temp and how close the wall is and what type of oiler they have to the simple did the guy running the lanes let the oiler get to temp first.

Here is the problem and the correct way to oil lanes and I am willing to bet that 95% of the houses in America don't do it this way.  Let machine warm up.  do lanes 1,2,3,4 go back and do 1,2,5,6.... on up till you are done.  This way the machine is working properly on all lanes.

Naaaa its not that they hook more, and of course having a womens league before use doesnt help, cuz 90% of them throw plastic all over the lanes, but that pair is just squirrely... take for instance, lane 2 i started going high into the pocket so i moved 2 boards left and made my break point the 12 board and the ball almost hit the 3 pin square lol....

So i go back to making the 10board my break point and end up going threw the nose lol..

The house i use to bowl in 5 and 6. Lane 6 was amazing and lane 5,2 or 3 people a night would leave a 5-7-10 split every night and there still haveing the same problem.

where i used to bowl there were 2 pair that wee "fun" 13 & 14 where 13 was about 5 boards tighter  and 31 & 32 where you played deep on 31 and the twig on 32

For me it's 51-52 on my 9PM league. 52 hooks about 2 more arrows. This makes for an interesting night. At the 6PM league it's 43-44. this time the left lane outhooks the right.

13-14 at the local place. They play so different its just wild, you would think its a different lane surface or condition.

Lanes 1-4 at my house have held some of my best sets and I always do crap when i bowl on 19-20... Ironic that 19-20 have been the 2 lanes to break the most in the last 2-3 years? lol

lanes 15 and 16 for me... 16 is fine but 15 NEVER has the seven pin on spot... bowlers have complained as at times it will set the pin up visible offset for a whole game... but they just can't seem to get it on spot... very messy pin-carry.

I bowled at a older house in New London WI a few seasons ago we were first shift and, the carry was crazy werid.

3&4 Were not to bad, an occasional flat ten with the ball screaming through the rack, nine pins here and their, not to bad.

5&6 Were crazy, ringing and flat tens all night adjust to one and leave the other, also if you got the ten pin out the 7 was sure to be their on the other side.

7&8 I struggled with all year, nothing wanted to give a decent read, change balls and lines with no sucess.

The rest of the house was tolerable, but that house still stands out as being a strangest carrying house I have ever seen.

lol, its always funny reading good stories like these.....

Which brought up some of the old houses i usta bowl in...  one house, the only time it was an "issue" was during the City Tourny and the house would use the high end of the lanes, and lanes 19-20 usta be were the house ended, but they added lanes 21-30 a few yrs later, same lanes and all, but the "arrows" are 6inches closer to you....  I never noticed it till one day i was bowling on 21-22 and noticed i was always 1 arrow deeper than i would be on lanes 1-20 lol.

I did have two places I bowled that lane 1 had a "wall" that ran along the approach to the gutter so you really couldnt move deeper than 4th arrow..

23 & 24 , end pair.   They hook so much you think the machine runs out of oil by  the time it makes it there.
