State Tourney question
« on: January 09, 2008, 01:35:27 PM »
I live in the KC area, and am planning on bowling in the KS state tournament coming up in the spring.  Could my buddy from Missouri bowl doubles with me.  He is a USBC member like me.  I was planning on bowling in the MO state tourney with him as well.  Just wanted to make sure we could do that. Thanks.

Most state tournaments I know of require participants to have bowled a certain number of games within the State Association.

I live in Michigan but bowl mostly in Indiana. I am approved to bowl in the Indiana State Masters this month. I was also approved and bowled in this tourney last year. I think you just have to bowl a minimum amount of games in that particular state

some states may sell an "affilate" membership, but one muc bowl scratch to do that.  Check the entry form from your state tourney, rules are typically on the back

Yeah, i picked up a form, and it does say that all participants must currently be in a USBC sanctioned league in the state you are wanting to bowl in.  Thanks for the replies.

Well, its not like we are both in KC just on different sides of the border.  I am in Olathe, KS, and my buddy is in Springfield, MO.  Not exactly real close to the KS state line.  Besides, I dont want to do anything that will jeopardize his chance to bowl in MO tournaments.  Its not a big deal.  I will ask one of my teamates, or leaguemates to bowl with me.

My team just bowled the Michigan State tourney even though we all live in Illinois.  We just had to pay the sanctioning fee for the state which was 12 bucks I think.
