"Almost there..." the 279 curse ;)
« on: February 19, 2012, 03:41:57 AM »
Despite some frustration good news: I egalized my personal high game record of 279 for the third time, and I have never been SO close to a 300. I will admit that it happened today on a rather wide open, modified 38' THS. But, nevertheless, I am proud of the achievement (drawing the right conclusions from the previous games with much too strong equipment).

What's funny: I literally ripped the rack with my Power Groove Particle, a special purpose piece with a semi-axis layout and with a polished surface - it worked just great on this pattern, it moved as if it was running on tracks with a neat, mellow hook, but still with great carry.

The result: all strikes, just a 9/ in the ninth frame - I tugged the ball, it came in rather high, so I left a stone 4. With some luck it COULD have toppled over due to collateral damage, but the shot was sub-optimal, so the 279 is justified ;)

Anyway, I do not give up hope on a 300. It will come, and like today probably then when I won't expect it...

Still great shooting.  It took me a long time of dedicated practicing, multiple leagues every year and tournaments for many, many years....but most importantly it took a GREAT proshop guy.   I know your time will come dizzy, by just the hell raiser review and vid I can tell, you "got it." Now its just a matter of time and going in for the kill in the latter part of the 300 game.  Cuz believe me they always come when u least expect them to.

Don't throw strikes, throw BOLTS!

In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]

Thank you guys, I just had to "vent" a bit with this post.

Anyway, what I really found positive (after all) is that I got there through the correct adjustments in line, release and equipment. Secondly, I was not "nervous" at all. The ninth frame was crap, but I knew that just as I released the ball. Anyway, I filled the 10th frame and even added three more strikes the next game (with a different ball), so I really must have been "in the groove".

Again, thank you!
