With the league being sanctioned and if it is showing up as a sport shot league, the tournament director will re-rate you on the scale that USBC has come up with for determining averages.  At least they should anyway.

Sport Rule book. Rule 202.  It advises where the scale is as well as additional information.  Go to Bowl.com under rules 'sport'

Yes, your average will be rerated based off of the fact that you were in a sport league, and it was sanctioned a sport league.

Keeps the baggers at bay.

If you bowl a sport and a non-sport league, they will use the higher of the two averages(adjusted sport). Some tournaments don't allow the use of sport averages at all, even the adjusted average.
