Could this be the turnaround bowling needs? So far, so good! Excellent production. Lots of fans. Unlike in the past where they've made bowling look like a joke, this one looks like some real $$$ went into it.
Don't care who wins as long as it isn't Belmonte haha.
DISCUSS!!!

I'm sitting on top of mark Roth where u guys at!??!?

Haha! There is a short guy in the front row that was thumbing down Scott Norton. He reminded me of Tyrion from Game of Thrones (no offense to anyone, he looks like him in the face).

I swear that's what I thought
I was like omg it's tywin lanister

I'm cheering for this guy Gary Faulkner. That short guy who was obviously friends with Rhino Page on Gary's first short shrugged his shoulders. He is hilarious. I guess he will cheer for Gary in this game. He definitely doesn't like Scott Norton.

ROFLMAO! I was like it is in Vegas.... but not quite him. He does look recognizable in something else I've seen though.

Thanks for the heads up. Watching it now. Liking the way Faulkner is rolling.

Yeah I gotta head out which sucks. But glad to see the PBA back live in primetime finally for the first time since like 2001. Yeah Faulkner is legit.

Yea Gary first shot he pulled it Prolly from nerves but the rest were solid.

Gary is very impressive so far. That Jackal Carnage looks pretty sick too.

Yea he has two of them I believe pin up on the right and down for left lane. Scott Norton was also throwing one pin up and pin down on each lane

Wish there was a radio feed!

Who won second match? I had to leave.
-
The midget is the comedian Brad Williams. Guy is incredible. If he comes to a town near you, defiantly go see him. He also has a special on showtime.
-
Most memorable show in forever
-
It was a excellent show, even with Minimo in the front row at the beginning. I was thinking it was the dude from Jackass
-
Just got home! Damn! Faulkner ran the table and won? I need to find a replay of this show. Man! Ladies and gentlemen... BOWLING IS BACK!!!!!

Faulkner was very impressive, no doubt. He very much reminded me of when Ricky Ward was on the tour. Versatile, calm, and let his bowling do the talking. Definitely hope to see more of him on tv. Great show overall.

Being black, words cannot describe how special this show was.

Yeah 2nd time ever and first time in who know how many years. I remember seeing him on those Xtra frame shows. They would just show clips of him bowling. But I was like "who is this guy and why isn't he on the TV shows?" Power player but just super calm. I hope I see him win several more.
-
I was very impressed. I hope we see a lot more of him. Ciminelli would have won if not for him, beat Ciminelli at his own game as a power lefty

Same here. This feels like such history for be growing up in bowling the D.C. Area with 40+ lane centers of all black teams on league nights. I grew up looking up to the local guys who were great and gave the tour a run and had great success but not winning a PBA Major 1st TV show out success.
There couldn't have been a better guy to do it.
-
Was happy to see Gary win, he was very calm and collected. Nice for Motiv to have both on the show in the finals.
How did everyone like the perspective? I really liked the higher view point of the ball going down the lane. Gives a better idea of reaction shapes on the patterns.
Also, I don't think it was a Jackal Carnage (though I wasn't there), though could have been. I saw the fill ball with the Revolt Havoc so maybe that is the sign it was the Carnage. Was thinking it could be a Venom Panic since it seemed Tackett was throwing weaker stuff.
-
What also impressed me was the unbelievable pin action/carry that he was getting. His roll and ball reaction was perfect! He deserved to win!

We may have crossed paths at some point. I used to bowl in many of the Bowl America's in the NOVA area.

Further leaves me to believe there are PBA execs reading some of my threads on here. I created a thread a month or so ago on improvements the PBA needs to make on their shows. I was shocked how good the production was last night. And yeah, that view they showed (which is more above the lane and centered, not that stupid 3/4 quarter side view where you can't see anything but the ball rotating) is awesome. When Faulkner's ball was going down the lane, you could see exactly where it started rolling and how solid it was going into the pocket.
Since I know you are reading, GOOD JOB PBA! HAH!
-
don't get to excited about the "prime-time" TV coverage ....
The PBA got this time CHEAP .... as well as all the Sunday 1pm spots.
Ask yourself ... what sport wants to compete with the NFL for viewer? NONE.
The PBA is taking what they can get. Its a LONG road to the glory of the 1970's. I hate to say it but it will NEVER happen until the bowling ball madness stops. Return to the simpler days where shotmaking was a premium and you don't need $1500 in bowling equipment and a ball rep to be competitive.

I'll say this, as I haven't seen any of the shows yet.
I was lucky enough to catch this while searching for bowling from my provider, and immediately set the DVR. Unfortunately, since this was live and I'm in the same time zone (100 miles from Reno), this came on at 4pm. The bad part of it here was that most people in the same timezone, who were not up there or not proactively keeping track of the tournaments, were still at work when these went to air. So there would have been no real way to catch this unless it was recorded, or hope that it airs again.
That might be the PBA's intentions here; air these live, but possibly re-air them at another time, and maybe back in that 'typical' Sunday slot.
I'll have time to watch this this weekend, so I'm going to hold fire on any other comments.

Not sure if it will be re-aired, but I think PBA YouTube page will upload it at some point. They have entire tournaments uploaded of recent shows. I only saw first hour. But compared to the lame production they have had the past 10 years, this was by far the best show in over a decade.

Not worried about it being re-aired, as I have the shows recorded. I'm just saying that for those in the same timezone, the timing was bad. Most people were still at work finishing up the day at the time the shows were aired. In fact, I don't remember a time in any of the PBA/PWBA/LPBT/PBA Seniors tours where the taped show was aired during the business day. They were all either in the evening or on the weekend, but never during the business day.

Ha ha, I thought it was that guy too. This was one of the best shows I've seen in quite a while. Very well done.
On a side note, I did a big Holy Crap when they were showing Ciminelli's giant left arm. Compared to his right arm, it looks like it's a really big Popeye steroid arm.

I thought Faulkner was throwing a Primal Rage.
-
I thought Faulkner was throwing a Primal Rage.
EJ used the Primal Rage for his first few shots. Then switched to a Tag, and then finished with the Octane.
Faulkner used the Jackal Carnage with the exception of 2 fill shots where he threw a Revolt Havoc. Easy way to tell is the Motiv logo is black/gray on the Carnage whereas the Primal Rage has the green/black logo.

Well, Since I set my DVR to record anything bowling and first run and repeats, it caught the Cheetah Championship again on Sunday, so it looks like they are going to re-air the ones that were shown live on Thursday.
Cheetah came on at 10am PT, and it looks like Viper will be on next Sunday (12/27), again at 10am PT.
So if any were missed live, you should be able to catch them again.

The only live show was the World Championship, all the others were taped for Sunday showings
