Ok so I am new to the site but I need some help. I throw a 15lb Storm X-Factor, pin Located next to Ring Finger with balance hole, 14-6 mph, Also I have a brunswick Ultimate Inferno same drilling . I am looking for a new ball but am not sure. I love this ball and if I could find a few I would buy them but no luck. ANY IDEAS????

There are too many factors with not enough info. What are the lane conditions you bowl (wood, synthetic, combo, overlays)(dry, oily, long, short, carry down)? What style are you (stroker, cranker, tweener, back up)(rev rate)? Do the balls you are using now too strong or weak? What kind or reaction in a ball are you looking for?

X factor is a great ball which makes it even tougher to find a replacement.

Your money is better invested in lessons than a new ball.

I am taking lessons. I currently carry a 185 avg after 3 years of bowling so not that bad. I shoot on synthetic lanes that change from week to week. The X-factor is my Main ball that I use but i've had it resurfaced a few times and I dont know how many more times I can have it done before The ball becomes illegal. I am looking for something with a similiar reaction. I am more a tweener. I usually stand on 27 throw to 10 and usually have a good reaction with the X-factor. I recently bought a Hammer Black widow Bite and I cant stand the ball. I have had it drilled 2 times. I am looking for something with a stronger back end. I was looking at the new Brunswick Maxx or the 900 Global Break Pearl

This is a non-issue. The ball needs to meet it's minimum size when it leaves the factory.

Keep resurfacing as long as you want, but also make sure you have the oil extracted with a Revivor or Rejuvenator at the same time.

There are several balls on the market today that would be similar in reaction to the X-Factor. Just look for pearl reactives such as the Twisted Fury Destruction, the Cell Pearl, Rapid Fire pearl, to name only a few.

That is the problem. The proshop I normally go to recommend the Black Widow Bite and I hate that ball. I don't drill my own stuff wish I knew how. The pro shops in the area aren't the greatest or the most helpful. That brings up another question. What is the best way to Extract the Oil out of a ball. I was told to bake it, Put it in hot soapy water, use a heat gun... Are all these just a waste of time and to get the best results have a pro shop soak it?

Find a shop that has a Revivor or Rejuvenator. Call around if you need to. A pro shop that has made that type of investment might be a good place to start because they are probably in it for the long haul. The oven is a great way to crack the cover.

The reaction characteristics of the Black Widow Bite and your X-Factor are very different. One starts earlier and tends to arc more, while the other is close to a skid/snap reaction.

As I mentioned before, the X-Factor is a pearl reactive. Nearly every pearl reactive mid-price range and up will be very close to what you're looking for.

Remember the things that influence ball reaction are: 1) The bowler and what he puts on the ball (speed, revs, etc.) 2) ball surface, 3) Core characteristics (RG & differential), and 4) Layout. Good luck.
