PBA new upcoming bans in 2023
« on: February 03, 2022, 09:16:50 AM »
The PBA Tour will ban wrist supports with “restrictive material” such as steel or plastic supportive bracing starting Jan. 1, 2023. The new rule applies only to PBA Tour competition, not PBA50 or PBA Regional competition, or PBA50 or PWBA players in doubles/team events with PBA players.

PBA announced to ban Plugged Bowling Balls from 2023.

The Storm C4 allows the wrist to bend forward. The Vise support locks your wrist in place.

Should’ve stopped the robo-arm nonsense.

There, fixed it for you.

I assume this only applies to PBA events.  If not, a lot of seniors, like myself, who suffer from arthritis and just plain old age, won't be bowling next year.

You bring up an interesting question.. would this also apply to PBA50 and PBA60 events?

No, it's just the national tour.

Wouldn't be so many robo-arm bowlers if coaches would actually teach adult bowlers the proper technique and not have a bias that people of a certain age can't learn how to get their hand in the proper position to put revolutions on the ball.

svengali,

Could your post be any more laughable or lacking of empathy towards senior citizens or those with arthritis or physical difficulties? Sometimes a person should type up a post and then sit for five minutes and then read it. Most times they would not post it. You're wrong but it's probably not the first time.

Did you take the time to read my post yourself? I have a great deal of empathy for those bowlers and was sticking up for them. I have carpel tunnel myself and used wrist devices myself until I switched to two-handed.

The basic wrist supports will do the job of protecting one's wrist. No one "needs" an adjustable metal wrist device in order to bowl. That said I have no objection with anyone using them at the USBC level (including the open). I just don't like them being offered as a permanent fix for delivery issues when good coaching should be able to do that and more.

So sayeth the person who did the self own by complaining about two-handed bowlers not having the strength to do what others do one handed, then gets upset about that very same insult. You have no credibility to tell others what to do. Perhaps practicing what you are preaching is in order.

Your lack of memory is on the same level as your lack of credibility:

Two handed bowling is no different. It lets guys who aren’t physically strong enough to do it with one hand to use their second hand to help generate power

Nice backhanded comment on two handed bowlers not being strong enough your a fool

In one sense you are staying that two-handed bowlers aren't strong enough to do what one-handed bowlers do so they have to use their other hand to generate that power... Then you complain about a comment about 2-handed bowlers not being strong enough, yet you did the same exact thing.

Those were all you. My point stands. Let alone the calling of trolling. Practice what you preach.
