Barney Adams was in charge before they were bought by TM.

As, I am a fitter/clubmaker involved in the biz since the mid 80's. The golf industry is way down as is bowling.  Don't look for it to turn around at any time.  It's shaking out with the majors battling it out.  TMAG has dropped coming out with a new driver every 4 months and is reeling as is Callaway.

Adams is just a smaller company that it once was.

Here's one correlations between bowling and golf that is the exact opposite.  Bowlers realize that they need to have the correct ball fit to their game.  Golfers try and fit themselves and purchase on-line and usually fail.  Happily 40% of my business its re-fitting all these folks.   ;D

Most bowlers THINK they know what they need and buy off the internet just like golfers.  Everyone loves it when Santa in the brown truck drops off presents.  I think if you spent a week in the pro shop it would be much closer to your shop than you expect.

Then, if you purchased a bowling ball how would you fit it and drill it?  99% still need to go to a pro shop for drilling and correct fitting.  Golfers do not....buy it play it.  That's the difference.

Were they 6 degrees flat to start and they adjusted to 4 to get him to stop pushing his irons?

Well when too upright his heel was turning the face...once adjusted his club head speed increased...and he hit the ball straighter  and farther...

Lurker.  Gotta get my equipment fix in something else now that I don't bowl any more and drill 30 balls a year for myself.

Most people will push it more if you adjust flat.  Scott33?

Playing length/lie both correlate most that play 1/2" length gradusation (which exists because equipment manufactures are set up to produce equipment 7g between heads and are still using swing weight for heft matching.)  All of these equipment standards are for cheap labor and cost of production but are in no way to be thought of great fitting clubs.  Buyers are unaware of what other progressive methods are available.  ie. MOI matching instead of swing weight for heft match and True Length Technology which provides a more slight curve of length graduation instead of abrupt where golfer must change their athletic address position/upper torso for each club.)

On average 35% of male players fall within the WTF for most industry standard and 25% of women and this is just playing length/lie correlation.  Not to mention all the other fitting factors.
