PBA Player of the Year
« on: April 03, 2005, 08:15:34 AM »
Tommy Jones or Patrick Allen?  There is still the Dexter Tournament of Champions, but today my vote would be for Patrick (3 titles which includes a major, points leaders, money leader).

As much as i like TJ and as much
as i dislike PA i would have to
say PA gets my vote as well.

I don't care for the guy but PA has to be in the lead right now. Leading in almost everything how can you not vote for him.

It's gotta be PA.  Finished 2nd at the Masters, won back to back tourneys, finished second at the US Open, and now wins the Champpionship.  Unless TJ wins the TOC, its PA all the way

Mr. Guzman has it right, you cannot knock PA and his 3 titles, 1 being a major, and the fact that he finished 2nd in the other 2 majors thus far.  TJ may have more wins, but PA has overall been better this season.

My thoughts exactly. All 3 majors so far he has made tv (winning today), won back to back (first guy to do that since WRW a few years ago), leading the points/money list. TJ yes has won 4 times (1 of which was Japan Cup) and is undefeated on tv, BUT he hasnt made the show in a major, he is not leading any statistical category and unless he wins the ToC, it will be PA. Besides last year, Steve Jaros won 3 times, had his career year, made 5 shows but didnt win PoY, Mika did with only 2 wins....PA gets it.

PA....3 Major Finals....1 Victory...

TJ......no where even close in a Major..

only way TJ has a prayer is if can win next week...

I don't like it, but PA has to be considered the POY right now.  The only way that changes is if TJ has a great showing at the TOC while Allen has a terrible showing.  Sleeper pick,,, I think Chris Barnes could sneak in if, only if, he wins next week.
