PBA points inequity
« on: February 19, 2004, 11:23:32 PM »
I just noticed something on the PBA points system that seems unfair to me.

Any event entered garners you a minimum of 1,000 points no matter what position you finish in. Because of the emphasis put on majors they give double points in them so you get a minimum of 2,000 points just for entering the tournament.

In a normal PBA event you don’t get to 2,000 points until you reach about 53rd place.

It would seem like a 53rd place finish (a cashing finish) in a normal event should out weigh a 590 place finish in the masters over 400 places from cashing!

They have either over emphasized simply entering a tournament and/or over emphasized the importance of the majors.
